Libby and Alice

Two years ago, we welcomed Libby and Alice, from England, as volunteers.

Libby and Alice are friends since primary school, and they’ve always wanted to travel together. We are glad that they both chose Yakushima Senvus Village to visit!

2年前、イギリス人のリビーとアリスを、ボランティアとして迎えました。

リビーとアリスは小学校時代からの友達で、一緒に旅行をしたいといつも思っていたそうです。屋久島センバスビレッジを選んでくれてありがとう！

They helped us with two important tasks related to the Rice paddy Relay that students of Yakushima Ohzora High School carry out every year: harvest and threshing the black and red rice. Doing so, they helped the students learn the importance of communicating and trusting their partners.

二人は、屋久島おおぞら高等学校の生徒たちが毎年行っている「リレー水田」で、

「黒米」と「赤米」の収穫と脱穀という2つの大切な仕事を手伝ってくれました。生徒たちはそれによって、パートナーとのコミュニケーションと信頼の大切さを学ぶことができました。

They also helped us with various task at the farm, participated of Outdoor classes with the students of Yakushima Ohzora High School, and had easy conversations with them in English.

また彼女たちは、農園での様々な作業を手伝ってくれたり、屋久島おおぞら高等学校の生徒たちと一緒に「アウトドア授業」に参加して、英語で簡単な会話をしたりしてくれました。
