Magnolia Figo
Spring is finally arriving to Yakushima Senvus Village and some beautiful flowers are starting to bloom.
屋久島センバスビレッジにも春が訪れ、美しい花々が咲き始めました。
This lovely white-cream petal flower belongs to the Magnolia figo, an evergreen plant native to China. Because of its intense banana-like fragrance, it is also known as banana shrub.
この可愛いクリーム色の花びらを持つ花は、「カラタネオガタマ」という、中国原産の常緑植物です。バナナのような強い香りから、英語で「バナナ・シュラブ（低木）」とも呼ばれています。
It was actually its fragrance what made us discover that the flower had bloom ^^
この香のおかげで、花が咲いているのに気づくことができました。^^
