First volunteers
Over the last 4 years, we have received 83 volunteers from 30 countries.
I want to introduce you to the first two volunteers that came to Yakushima Senvus Village and Yakushima Ohzora High School.
これまでの４年間で、30ヶ国から83人のボランティアが来てくれました。
「屋久島センバスビレッジ」と「屋久島おおぞら高等学校」に来てくれた、最初のボランティアをふたり、ご紹介したいと思います。
This is Stuart, from Canada. He was our first volunteer at the end of 2016. He helped us with the farm and participated of the Outdoor class with Yakushima Ohzora High School students.
カナダから来たスチュアートです。2016年の年未、初めてのボランティアとして来てくれて、農作業の手伝いをしたり、屋久島おおぞら高等学校の生徒たちと「アウトドアクラス」に参加したりしてくれました。
And this is Lukas, from Germany. He came on the beginning of 2017, helped to harvest the tankan at Yakushima Senvus Village, prepared onigiris with Megumi-san and Kazuko-san, and attended the outdoor class with Yakushima Ohzora High School students as well.
そして、ドイツから来たルーカスです。2017年の初めに来てくれました。屋久島センバスビレッジの「タンカン」を収穫したり、スタッフの恵さんや和子さんと一緒に「おにぎり」を作ったり、屋久島おおぞら高等学校の生徒たちと「アウトドアクラス」にも参加してくれました。
Looking back, it’s thanks to the good experiences we had with them that we kept receiving foreigners to interact with our students and to help us in our farm. ^^
振り返ってみると、
私たちが今も、生徒たちと交流したり農作業を手伝ってもらうのに
外国人ボランティアを受け入れ続けているのは、
最初のボランティアだった彼らと、良い時間を過ごせたおかげだと思います。
I hope we can meet a lot of new volunteers in the coming years ^^
