Volunteers and "Kamairicha kakou"

About 3 years ago, we were welcoming Ilenia from Italy and Jade from France as volunteers at Yakushima Senvus Village.

They visited just in time for tea harvest season, so they had the chance to help us picking tea leaves and then kettle-roasting them for the next production stage through a technique mostly used in Kyushu called "Kamairicha kakou".

We have kept in touch with them during the years, and they've become really good at Japanese, so we hope to be able to meet them again someday!
